just for general info, maybe this case, maybe the next, in case you have not
seen this particular gadget yet: a mom who has a baby that can latch, and who
is working on increasing supply, maybe by other means also, but baby truly
needs more fluid and calories today*, and formula is what is available,
consider using a supplemental nursing system (sns) - supplement the baby at
breast, while baby is bf, usually toward the end of the bf session the baby
gets formula through a little tube placed next to moms nipple. avoids
artificial nipple confusion/preference, mom gets more stimulation and
emptying of hindmilk, baby gets more hindmilk --> facilitating an increase in
supply.

if the mom is interested and motivated, and the sns is presented to her as an
easy management option, it can be a good choice.
