This is a very interesting topic that I feel will open up a new thread here, I too like
Norma, never, ever considered bottle feeding my babies. I was 25 when I had my first, I
was an RN but knew next to nothing about lactation, and when I found out that I was
pregnant, I just **knew** I would breastfeed, come hell or high water! And I did despite
the fact that the nurses at the hosp game me a nipple shield (brown rubber type) because
the baby did not latch on real well in the first 24 hours (now I know that's normal) and
the fact that they slipped him sugar water without my permission. He got hooked on the
shield, and a wonderful LLL leader helped me wean him, I think this is what spurred me
to help other breastfeeding moms. My only regret is that I didn't know then what I know
now :)
