Donna Ramsay's ultrasound work has found a huge variation in ductal diameter
between women. It is possible if two women having the same level of milk
production and storage, but one with a much smaller ductal diameter than the
other - the one with the smaller diameter will have a much more forceful
MER. Just a theory, nothing measured by anyone yet.
