>Can anyone give me a clearer statement about the United States endorsement
of
the code? I've searched the archives and the best I could find was a
statement about the US endorsing a 1994 resolution by the World Health
Assembly on the voluntary International Code of Breastmilk Substitutes.
That
1994 resolution affirmed the previous resolutions. So, I'm thinking that I
can fairly say that the U.S. endorsed the Code in 1994, right?<

My understanding is that the US endorsed the Code, however the Code is
intended to be enacted as legilation, either in entirety or in another form
(in fact, the original intention saw the Code as the minimum legislation,
adn a few countries have enacted STRONGER legislation). The US has never
done that.
