I now better understand what Dee was saying.  Yes, the mom can become very
stressed just from the laundry aspect of spilling up.  In no way did I
intend that we belittle her stress.  However, by pointing out that it may
not be medical (especially when other causes have been ruled out) we can
reduce one cause of her stress.  Now she doesn't have to worry about it
meaning there is something wrong with her, her baby or her milk.  Then we
can sympathize with the logistical problems of dealing with the mess and
offer her suggestions with coping with that as well as suggestions to reduce
the extent of the spilling up.

 

Incidentally, I did not use the term "just" when stating that it can be a
laundry problem rather than a medical one.  It can really be a "problem" not
just an annoyance or nuisance.
