The Dancer Hand position, named for Sarah Danner,CPNP, CNM and Edward
Cerutti, MD, (Dan - Cer) is discussed and pictured in "Breastfeeding and
Human Lactation" by Jan Riordan and Kathleen Auerbach on pp 493, "The
Breastfeeding Answer Book," revised ed (1997) by Nancy Mohrbacher and Julie
Stock on p 65, 301 (and a few other pages as well).  Or get the Childbirth
Graphics pamphlets, "Nursing Your Baby with a Cleft Palate or Cleft Lip,"
"Nursing Your Premature Baby," "Nursing Your Baby with Down Syndrome," and
"Nursing Your Neurologically Impaired Baby," by Sarah Danner and Edward
Cerutti, which all have an excellent explanation and photographs of this
position that provides extra chin support for the baby while breastfeeding.
