I am glad you are going to  cancel your subscription and hope others will,
too.  Real Simple is the antithesis of the Simplicity Movement.  The movement to
simplify your life has nothing to do with Madison Avenue hype or about buying
more things to "look" like you have simplified your life.  Their press kit
says:

"Real Simple readers are passionate about the magazine and its mission. These
loyal, involved women spend more than one hour with each issue, cutting out
articles and ads, ordering products and using the information featured. The
result? The advertised products become solutions by association, used by 4.8
million actively-involved readers."

This magazine is about buying products---so should we be surprised that they
are supportive of bottlefeeding?  This magazine is a vehicle to market more
products.  It uses the desires of the popular Simplicity Movement to encourage
spending.  One must applaud the marketing department for this grand idea--make
the consumer who desires to simplify life spend his/her money on products that
can make him/her feel better about his/her consumerism.

Marketing........propaganda.......which is it??  Subtle??  Not so
subtle......should one trust the media for any worthwhile information?  Influential?  You
bet!
