“Breastfeeding is a shield that protects infants in an emergency”- WABA WBW 2009 Calendar Announcement
A “breastfeeding shield” will be put up on the world map for every pledge that WABA receives for a WBW activity planned all around the world.
The WBW 2009 Virtual Breastfeeding Shield Event is taking place now on the WBW website www.worldbreastfeedingweek.org.
All you need to do is to complete the pledge form at http://www.worldbreastfeedingweek.org/pledges.htm
Please forward this news to as many people as you know and let us all participate in this event for breastfeeding as we endeavour to protect infants during times of emergency around the world.

P.S. Whilst WBW is officially celebrated from 1-8 August annually, there are many countries which celebrate during the months of October and November. To take part in the WBW Virtual Breastfeeding Shield Event , all that matters is that you are celebrating WBW in the year of 2009.
