The National Organization for Women has weighed in AGAINST the AAP
guidelines (according to a newspot in our local paper) on behalf of working
(that is, employed outside the home!) women, saying that breastfeeding for
one year is unrealistic for these women. ARGGGHHH!

And this is the National Organization FOR Women? Reminds me of old tired
saws about the women's movement being against women if they gave birth!
(which was never the case, but got thrown in there with bra burning as an
example of why not to support the Feminist MOvement.)

If ever there was a feminist issue, it seems to me it is breastfeeding.
sigh.....

so disappointed.

By the way, was I the only one who noted that the AAP guidelines never used
the term lactation consultant anywhere and that if one is licensed one
should see mothers and help them, but unless licensed, this is not
something we should do? Wonder how many LCs besides me that excludes.....

an inquiring mind.....
