The ONE study cited by Lawrence about this idea of a "chewing window" is the
one by Illingsworth, et al. and refers to MENTALLY RETARDED children. Yes,
I'm shouting. It is not about *normal* children. There have been no
studies at all, that I am aware of, that suggest that normal children have a
critical period during which they must learn to chew.
