I have been using a product called 3-LAC with moms who have very
resistant yeast and am seeing excellent results. You can google it
on-line. When I have babies who do not suckle properly, I do not waste
anyone's time--I just refer for CST--a very fast delivery (your 8-week
old) is common cause of structural misalignments (my youngest was born
in 2 pushes and could not open wide until after he had CST--he was a
homebirth--no other issues--just came fast). A disorganized suckle is
always a reason for CST, as is a baby who uses compensatory "sucking"
behaviours like sucking in the lips (blisters on lips) for an inability
to "suckle" properly.

Has anyone considered that the baby who may/may not be stunted in
growth is zinc deficient? Also, if this little one really needs to gain
weight, there ar far better foods than heavy whipping cream!!! I would
suggest avocado, krill oil, whole coconut milk, whole kefir and
coconut oil. They actually have nutrient-density as well as calories.

For Anne's mom with recurrent plugged ducts--some things I have tried
that have worked--one mom saw a massage therapist for lymphatic
drainage a couple of times, homeopathy is relaly only going to be
effective if the mom sees a homeopath for constitutional care, spraying
colloidal silver ( be sure is an excellent quality) on the blebs can
heal them pretty quickly. Also, I have used kinesio tape
(http://www.kinesiotaping.com/default.asp?CustComKey=35549&CategoryKey=35
551&pn=Page&DomName=kinesiotaping.com) to drain the ducts (also works
great for mastitis). You divide a wide piece of the tape into five
strips, but do not cut all the way through (so it looks like a hand)
and tape with the strips running from the top of the breast down toward
the areola. (like the photo here:
http://www.lymphnotes.com/article.php/id/215/). You have to use very
little tension. Moms can do it themselves, once taught. Perhpas there
is someone who can teach you or the mom in your area--a chiropractor
taught it to me. I would also consider looking more closely at the
mom's diet and possible causes of inflammation in this mom. Clients I
have worked with recently with the same problem had other inflammatory
conditions as well that needed to be treated for the problem to
completely resolve.
