Hello!

I have a mother who has been self-treating with APNO for several (2+) 
months for nipple wounds that seemed to be resistant to treatment. She 
pumps twice a day, 30-40 minutes, to provide ALL of her daughter's milk. 
Suffice it to say that she didn't follow-up when the wounds failed to 
resolve initially, and so has just now started yeast treatment 
(fluconazole) for obvious topical and ductal yeast.

This mother has noted great improvement in the ductal yeast symptoms in 
the 3 days on fluconazole. She stopped using the current jar of APNO, but 
has not yet noticed healing in the nipple wounds. Currently, she is using 
olive oil and/or lanolin for comfort.

Has anyone had experience with patients who use APNO (Newman's 
ingredients) long-term who have skin inflammation seemingly caused by the 
use of the ointment outside of obvious microorganism infection? Is there a 
recommended length of use for the ointment?

Is it worth a break from the APNO or continue to use a fresh batch of it?
