>From what I hear from people who have written for publication, you
bigger concern would be what is done with what you have written once
it has been turned over to the editors. I would be uncomfortable in
any situation where I did not have the right to read the final copy
and at that point agree or disagree to have it published IN THAT
FORM. It is amazing what a difference one word or even a
punctuation mark can make. Take for example the difference in
possible meaning in the following 2 versions of a familiar Bible
quotation. (I'm not leading this into a religious discussion, just
that this came up in a discussion yesterday, so the example is fresh
in my mind.)
The first 4 translations we loked at said: "I tell you, today
you will be with Me in Paradise." Another said: "I tell you
today, you will be with Me in Paradise". The relative placement of
a mere comma can make a big difference in the potential
interpretations, can't it?

So, an editor can, with seemingly small manipulations, change the
intent of what you are saying.

Winnie
