< I do not see a difference in
engorgement rates between breast sizes and I have seen some VERY
spectacular engorgement in large breasted women. I DO see a difference
with
early and frequent breast stimulation but even with 'every thing being
otherwise perfect'...ie vaginal birth without medication, early and
frequent feeding with good attachment, no separation of mother and
babe...
some women still become engorged. Often these women have engorgement with
each delivery without a variation due to differences in our treatment.>

I wonder what would happen (informal research) if we could get good
friends, relatives, etc. who were willing to do everything the same on
both breasts except to add "uphill" massage in the outer areas of one
breast as described by my previous post, and not do it on the other.

It would be interesting to see if helping the lymphatic pump move edema
out of the tissue would make any difference, and the mother would be her
own control.

If anyone has this opportunity, it would be great to report back to LN,
so that if it has any promise, someone could be persuaded to do some
formal research on it. But any crystalloid IV fluids received would
always have to be part of the equation!

ever try to impress an insurance company. I used it at first because I
thought it was a supportive gesture to use it here after IBCLE sent its
notice, but maybe not.)
