Dear All,
Fluconazole is normally used as a daily dose for nonvaginal health
problems, such as fungal infections elsewhere in the body. Oncologists
use it daily for prevention of fungal infections while someone is on
chemo. The vagina is unique in that fluconazole hangs around in the
vaginal mucosa for 3 days, but the vaginal mucosa is different from
breast tissue, and the bloodstream.
