When I told my (older) sister about teaching OB nursing last year, we began
comparing what was done when her children were born (22 and 19 years ago) with
what is done now.  Jackie reminisced about how good the heat lamp felt on her
swollen perineum.  When I explained that ice is used these days, she was
horrified.  I guess ice always sounds worse than it feels.
