If anyone would like to help me out, I'd appreciate it...

I am entangled in a debate with a woman on another list who has this silly
notion that breastfeeding women pass antibodies on to their babies, and
that whatever she (mom) is allergic to, babe will be too because of the
antibodies. And when babe weans, he/she will no longer be allergic because
he/she isn't getting those antibodies anymore.

This is a crock and I have pointed out to her that antigens are the trigger
for allergies, not antibodies. But she doesn't relent. This is a high
traffic list and lots of parents are reading this misinformation. Anybody
wanna give me more ammunition? Please mail to me privately, I'm NOMAIL on
lactnet. And when you write me, let me know if I can share your comments.

Thanks,

Jean Lewis

"The newborn baby has only three demands. They are warmth in
the arms of its mother, food from her breasts, and security in
the knowledge of her presence. Breastfeeding satisfies all three."
