In reply to Jay:
In addition to being an IBCLC, I am also a Registered Nurse in Labor and
Delivery. I am assuming that you are referring to strept in the vagina. At
our hospital, we treat with 2 grams Ampicillin via IV every 6 hours while in
active labor or ruptured membranes, which ever comes first. I am unsure at
this time if they are treated in the office during pregnancy, but I will
contact MD and post reply as soon as I know. This has NO effects on
breastfeeding. Hope this helps.

Cindy
