 Hi Brenda,

 It doesn't sound strange to me at all. I think it's that the mom was timing the 

feeds. I think you'll see an adequate weight gain once she allows baby to 

determine feeds. 3 oz should be plenty for this baby to gain appropriately.

 Several BMs in a feed sounds to me like mom just isn't waiting until baby 

completes the BM before changing the diaper.

 I do caution against judging the adequacy of the breast milk based on how it 

looks. Breast milk can look very different depending on when you look at it 

-thick, rich, watery, thin, bluish tinged etc. It's all good. 

 I'd be curious to see how much this baby took in at breast when mom timed the 

feeds. I even question whether the SNS or any other supplementary feeding is 

necessary if baby took the 3 oz. I'd say, 'good job' keep up the good work and
