Hi ALl,
Anecdotally, I have a friend who was diagnosed with CSF. SHe is still BF her
baby (Now 1 yr old), and baby is fine! In fact, this baby couldn't have had
ABM in the first place even if CFS was trasmitted thru breastmilk. She is
severely allergic to cows milk protein. Mom can't have even the slighted bit
of dairy in her diet or baby ends up screaming in agony and with bloody
stools (even now! Someone negelcted to tell the mom that there was a bit of
dairy in a dinner dish that was served recently. Baby was miserable for 3
days. :( ). Anyway, this mom was told that she needed to wean ASAP because
CFS was a brain disease that could be passed on to baby. With no proof to
this theory, mom decided it was better to BF her baby than to not.
My .02!
Jay
