Question - I have a mother whose baby is 6 wks old and weighs 12 lbs.
Presently in hospital with bladder infection. On antibiotics. About 2 1/2
wekks ago baby began getting very gassy and fussy and painful belly on
palpation. Has been placed intermittently over last 2 1/2 weeks on
pedialyte and nutramegen. Decreased fussiness and gas when given bottle.
Increased fussiness and gas with breastfeeding. Stools yellow.
questionable cow's protein intolerance or forciful letdown.
Mother will keep food diary and when baby eats and when he becomes fussy.
Off all dairy for two weeks.
Pump until letdown than put baby to breast to decrease force of letdown.
What else might this be?
