Subject: bathing with umbilical stump on.

With the 300 clients I have worked with in their homes for weeks, I have
bathed or taught them to bathe all of their babies while the cord stump was
on. The important part is to clean it with alcohol right after the bath and
keep the diaper down off of it until it falls off. Have never seen a problem.
If they don't do this the cord becomes mushy and stinky but that is quickly
rectified by the above measures.
