I am taking thyroid replacement drugs right now for hypothyroidism and they
do not seem to pose any problem with supply, etc. I do still get quite
fatigued, but have been told that my dosage can be adjusted to try to
accomodate. I take extra naps when I can to keep up with my 3 little ones.

Also, an interesting side note that may interest some - 3 months after I
had my third baby, I was diagnosed with postpartum thyroiditis. My primary
care doctor thought it was postpartum depression - I displayed all of the
classic symptoms. But I suggested he check my thyroid because my mom went
through the same thing after the birth of her third baby. Lo and behold, it
was a syndrome known as postpartum thyroiditis. The condition causes a
period of hyperthyroidism followed by hypothyroidism which has the
potential to become chronic in some women. So, anytime I talk to new moms
who have symptoms of PPD, I suggest that they also have their thyroid
levels checked.

Also, my mother had a partial thyroidectomy and takes replacement to this
day. She was able to breastfeed my sister and then my brother without
incident.
