I may have missed this but being ethical when selling and renting supplies, I
think the important thing is choices.  I don't rent and sell, but I do tell
people the places that do.  If I were to rent and sell myself, I would say I
have the item and it can also be found at X, Y, and Z.  That should help the mom
know you are recommending the item for her need and there are several places
where she can get it.
