Hello from Ottawa
On the topic of calling what babies do "breastfeeding", I would also suggest we listen to the words we use when helping a woman or when speaking of lactation. Specifically, we tend to refer to the THE breast, as in "offering the breast" or "latching on the breast" or "at the breast". Why do we not say, "mother's breast", "your breast", "her breast"? Why do we not include the woman in our language?
Respectfully,
Joy
who has noticed this tendency in herself and is working on it
PS I would like to acknowledge Deborah van Wyck who designed the knitted breast pattern I recommended earlier
