I got a page today from a lady whose son died of SIDS yesterday. She had
quit nursing a 6 weeks, had instructed the sitter to lay him on his belly on
the sitter's bed (and reminded me that I had warned her against this),
smoked, and yet still felt close enough to me to call me and tell me about
his death. I'm feeling so ambivalent....Do we really make a difference out
there? This lady needed alot of help to get breastfeeding. Will she
remember those days fondly, or will her guilt over the other things
overshadow all of this? Makes me want to SCREAM and cry, but it's my son's
birthday so I can't do either.

Thanks for being there, I'm glad I had the chance to vent!
