Dear Betsy,

> I have to say that if I were that mother, I would change obstetricians.

I am wonding why an Ob/Gyn would be consulted here at all --after
their job is pregnancy, birth and, hysterectomies and menopausal
women! Perhaps there is a different norm in the USA.

Is there perhaps another IBCLC who could give the name of a general
practitioner (hopefully one who has had a wife who breastfed) as my
understanding is that this falls more into the area of "family medicine".

I hear and understand the frustration of LCs when having to refer a
mom to someone with a purely medical training and watch
breastfeeding go down the tubes.
