Wow, this is my first post officially as the Brockton WIC Bfing
Coordinator. Our infant feeding classes are called "Infant Nutrition
Classes". We barely mention ABM at all, except to point out which one
WIC supplies, that is only a supplimental program which will not meet
all babies needs and that it WILL cost them out of their own pockets if
they choose this feeding method. We also point to the many recalls on
ABM in recent years. Then of course we talk at length on the advantages
of breastfeeding and show the Anita Baker video. ABM is not mentioned
again. I have only been present at two of these classes so I can't take
the credit for establishing the content. That credit goes to the former
coordinator who I think did a wonderful job. As a LLL Leader and now
WIC bfing coordinator I think I can feel fairly comfortable with this
setup.
