Hello Lactnet friends,

We had another "lunch inservice" today by our Similac formula rep. I
couldn't believe it when she asked us to recommend Similac to all our
patients. I never recommend formulas, and I told her that I didn't think
it was a good idea for our nurses to recommend a particular type of
formula. I told her that in everything I've read and researched it really
is the doctors call on which type should be fed to the baby. It makes me
very nervous to think of our nurses recommending Similac to our patients.
Talk about liability.

Any thoughts or comments? I'd love any responses so I can discuss this
further with our manager.

Thanks so much,

Becky Le RN, IBCLC
