I've seen this with quite a few tongue-tied babies. As the shift is made  
for baby's efficiency to drive supply, some moms actually have a significant  
drop in supply, lowered ejection power  as supply downregulates and   
baby's former "surfing" technique doesn't' work anymore. Baby gets frustrated,  
stops gaining as well, or starts losing. Some babies have really stretchy  
tongue-ties that cause no pain, others are so tight, and weak they can't cause 
 pain. Lack of pain doesn't always mean  better tongue function with these  
little ones. Hope that helps with this picture a bit. Ruling out illness 
and  such of course.
