I agree with Jaye's viewpoint. Expression of dissent is "flap" and
"criticism"? Dissent and criticism of leadership, may I respectfully
state, is the reason the United States was founded. Just a thought.

One more thought: Adolph Hitler said, "How fortunate for governments
that the people do not think."

So we, as professionals, are supposed to be good little lambies and
comply with standards with which we do not agree? I am, under the
edicts of my professional organization, now directed NOT to give advice
even though I know it to be accurate, evidence-based, and **in the best
interests of babies and mothers**?

Shame on the IBCLE for their LACK of professionalism! Changing the SoP
with NO advance notice to holders of their credential potentially puts
IBCLCs at risk. If not for Lactnet, many of us would never have even
become aware of this issue. If another professional organization
attempted a stunt such as this, its members would be up in arms, and
rightly so.

For those who are bothered by the posts criticizing the actions of the
IBCLE, there is always the delete key.
