No common sense! I'm not even discussing the breastfeeding/pacifier
nightmare. On NBC News Tonite, while they were discussing the baby bed, they
showed a picture of a 4 month old in a short sleeved T-shirt with NO blanket
whatsoever and the crib completely empty except for the baby. I can picture
a small newborn, no swaddling, lightly clothed this winter, placed in an
empty crib with nothing to comfort the baby and the parents trying to figure
out why the baby won't sleep.

BTW I do hope the the AAP members who are members of the Academy of
Breastfeeding Medicine rebel, and take their collective outrage to the AAP
board of directors and demand an explanation. Better yet, perhaps having
them all drop their AAP membership would speak volumes, but I'm sure they
still wouldn't "get it".

Wondering how the teaching we give to parents is going to change as a
result. I'd like to personally review the research about pacifiers, before I
have the AAP dictating to us what should be taught to parents!
