>:what happens to the baby if a nursing strike is not handled properly?
He becomes artificial {-ly fed, that is}
(Turn this one into, what usually happens, to the detriment of all, is the
baby is put on bottles and formula... blah blah blah about telling the diff
bw strike and weaning)
>:what is it about teething discomfort, stuffy noses, or ear infections that
>trigger nursing strikes?
PAIN and DISCOMFORT -- duh? most humans tend to avoid things that are
painful or cause one to not be able to breathe...
(might mention here that these are precisely the times that a baby needs
breastmilk the most and giving it in a cup rather than bottles is one way of
getting the baby back to the breast while still getting mother's milk and
not causing mom to become engorged/mastitis... etc)

>:when are children no longer at risk for nursing strikes and/or why do they
>outgrow them?
In High School
(When they wean themselves, which they do bc they are then developmentally
ready to a)no longer need dairy in their lives and b) tackle the
independence of later childhood)

>Feel free to "plug breastfeeding" as part of your answer. Thanks in advance.
PLUG.

sorry for the sarcasm, but what unhelpful ignorant questions!!! Where are
the ones about what to do to resolve a nursing strike quickly and with the
least trauma to all involved? where are the questions about how to tell a
nursing strike from "ready to wean self" (like at nine months when so many
strikes happen and so many say, oh the baby weaned himeself... to what?
bottles, that's not weaned that's cheated!)...

Judy, do you really want to write for these people?! can you add the real
info that is helpful??? bless you if you can/do!! 8*)
