Dear Lactnet Friends:

Babies don't need nipples to breastfeed. How many of us have had a baby
latch on to our cheek? How many of us have seen newborns with hickeys on
their wrists from sucking in utero. No nipples on cheeks or wrists.

Type 1 and Type 2 inverted nipples will come out when baby is latched on.
Type 1 will stay out; Type 2 will hide as soon as baby lets go.

Baby needs to be in arms, uninterrupted , as much as possible, for
unlimited breastfeeding before mom's breasts start filling.

I've never seen a Type 3.
