For the US, you can view interesting information on health statistics at the
website of the National Center for Health Statistics.
http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/releases/01facts/cesarean.htm
is a report on trends in cesarean birth.
If the URL has gotten fractured on its way to you, try
http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/ and click your way onward.
The site quotes a figure of 22 per cent CS for 1999. The VBAC rate has been
falling since 1996, and the CS rate is rising.
I did a search with the website's internal search doodad, using the word
'breastfeeding' and got 386 documents. This site is probably worth
bookmarking.
