The cooling of water to 165 degrees, allows it to kill resident bacteria in the formula without destroying vitamins - but it it has probiotics in it, it also kills that.

Subject: Making formula

Dear All

I have a question and I haven't posted on Lactnet for quite a while. Its regards making formula. What is your recommendation for making formula--cooled boiled water or boiling water thats been cooled to 70 degrees C. Our national guidellines in Australia recommend mixing formula powder with cooled boiled water but WHO guidelines differ.

Regards

Marian Rigney
