HI Jeanne,
I believe there is reference to this in Ruth Lawrence's book but I do not
have it here at home to check. Is the surgeon afraid that the cancer cells in
mother's milk both direct and from her supply would be detrimental to her baby?
The baby will not be harmed or at risk of developing cancer from drinking
this milk.
The mother will have to wean when she goes through her treatment. She gave
her baby 6 months of her milk. Now, her energy will be in fighting this
disease.
I wish her the best.
