Dear Rosemarie,

I just heard of a "new" and non-toxic treatment for lice. Smear 2 sticks or so
of margarine, enough to really coat the hair. Wrap the head with Saran
Wrap, and then wear a bathing cap over it. Stay like this for 4 hours. Then,
comb with a fine tooth metal comb, and pick out the nits. Now, you have to get
the margarine out. The recommendation is liquid dishwashing soap.

I would certainly try this before trying the lindane.

All the best,
Devorah Shulman
