I've received several queries regarding the IBLCE National Registry of
IBCLCs. Here is some more information.

The purpose of the Registry is to provide a list of names for employers
and others by state for verification of certification. In keeping with
the purpose of the Registry, it is arranged alphbetically by state and
then alphabetically by name. Since the purpose is to be able to verify
certification of someone, whose name one presumably knows, one only
needs to press the find button and type in the abreviation of the state
and the last name and the entry will pop right up.

My understanding is that this service is not meant as a directory.
Creating a directory of lactation consultants is and has been the
province of ILCA for years. One of the ways IBLCE and ILCA support each
other is that IBLCE encourages all IBCLCs to join ILCA and ILCA
recognizes the IBLCE credential as the "Gold Standard."

One of the benefits of joining ILCA is that you get listed in their
directory so others in the profession can network with you and you get
access to the directory so that you can contact others.

Hope this helps. You can reach the IBLCE web site at www.iblce.org.

Sincerely,
Heidi S. Roibal
IBLCE Public Relations and Marketing Chair
