I remember reading an article somewhere (LEAVEN/NEW BEGINNINGS??  Mothering?
National Geographic? Help me here, someone) by or about a human mother who
nursed her human baby in the cage next to a pregnant gorilla so that the
gorilla would be able to see what she should do with her own baby when it came.
Mother gorilla did the right thing - example plus instinct worked.
