In a perfect world no babies would be born premature, no babies would
be born with abnormalities that make them unable to suck effectively,
and all mothers could stay home with their babies and not work.

We don't live in a perfect world and breast pumps enable these mothers
to provide their baby with breastmilk.

I fear we head down a slippery slope if we start talking about pumps
and the companies that make and sell them in a way that puts them in
the same league with formula companies. There is more than one pump
company and these companies are in business to make money. They must
advertise to try to convince you that their pump is best. They must
advertise if they have a new product that is valuable.

We live in the society that we do and without breastpumps I fear our
breastfeeding rates would be pretty dismal.

Just my opinion.
