Dear Barb, I remember walking in a similar situation once as vss nurse.
What made me so mad was the 24 hour discharge with twins! You don't even
get two days for two babies! These were also 36 weekers. Boy was sort of
OK, but girl had nursed 3 times in 36 hours they had been home! And lost
sig amt of weight. (Mom figured she would wake up and eat when she got
hungry :-( I walked into kit and made a bottle. Monitored them very
closely until BF was going well and screamed at the powers that be for
discharging mom with 36 week twins before they really knew that those
babies could do what they needed to do to survive. I yelled a lot about
following policy and nobody using common sense!!! The system fell apart
and failed this mom all the way down the line. Just lucky that it wasn't a
tragedy too. Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
