My eldest is 31.  I am a midwife and thought I knew it all.  But - I did 
attend LLL meetings while pregnant, read *everything* and learnt so much!
Did my own thing in hospital and had no problems initially.
Didn't expect that my reality of "demand feeding" would mean 2 hourly feeds 
24/7 for many months!
Had multiple plugged ducts - taught myself to massage and express as 
necessary.  Hand expressed a large bottle-full to put in the freezer in case 
of disaster - never used it.
