I have permission to post this email from a mom who has symptoms of
fibromyalgia. I am having trouble answering whether or not it is safe for her to take
all the mentioned herbs and supplements for her symptoms. She is breastfeeding
a 14 month old who gets much of his daily nutrition from mom.

Also, does anyone know if Fibromyalgia like symptoms are improved with
breastfeeding? Isn't this often the case with moms with MS? I asked this mother and
she said she does feel better while actually nursing.

The post is below:

I actually saw my Md. for a check up in November and she had no clue as to
what causes my symptoms. I had numerous test that all came back normal. My
symptoms of which I have had for many years, include. Muscle ache especially in my
neck and shoulders. Sinus infection symptoms (but no infection). Numbness
in my legs, feet and sometimes hands. Terrible circulation. Among others. Any
ways, To make a long story even longer, I was looking in my book The Herbal
Drugstore, a great book, and came across Fibromyalgia. It is one of those
conditions that doctors say you have when they don't know what else to tell you.
It comes close to matching my symptoms, and there is some belief that it might
have to do with hormones, of which I do think. However I would like to try
some of the herbal remedies instead of paying another huge doctor bill before I
go back. Ginkgo and St Johns Wort were among them and the most common so I
thought I would give it a try. There are others I was hoping when you get a
chance you could look up. Grapeseed extract, White willow bark, and the
supplements NADH(Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide-hydrogen), Malic acid and magnesium,
Melatonin, Sam-e (s-adenosylmethionine), and coenzyme Q10. I'll be sure to
get a hold of the books too.

Thanks, Heather Dana
