I don't have any references to help with right now, but I would think that
for a severe injury it will take more than 2-4 weeks to heal. Just
irritates me that the doctor feels healing can only take place if she stops
breastfeeding.

I fell against the door frame and hurt my forarm about 3-1/2 inches below
the elbow. After an x-ray, because I thought it was broken, and going in
again two months later, because I would still wake up with pain, the doctor
told me to just give it time and gave me a muscle relaxer (which I took once
because aspirin worked just as well.) It actually took 9-12 months before I
no longer had any pain, it didn't hurt constantly but there were times when
it would ache so much I was sure I had damaged something and would have it
forever.

Anyway, your clients injury sounds much worse than my little episode, so I
can't understand why he would expect the healing process to be any faster,
breastfeeding or not. Why sacrifice the breastfeeding...? as Jack says.

I know you know this too but had to share, will look for references.

Cheryl
