Thorazine is also a galactogogue, but not often used because of the
significant side-effects. I know one mom who was prescribed it by her
pediatrician for insufficient milk supply (not my idea!) after failed trials
of herbal galactogogues and induced depression from metoclopramide. It did
indeed bring her milk supply up to full production. However, it also caused
her to feel "out of it," so she switched her dosing to evenings before bed.
She used the drug for a few weeks and then weaned down to a maintenance
dosage. As far as I know, baby has been fine.
