Dear Gonneke, off hand I'm not familiar with any research, but my personal
experiences and what I see my daughters and d-i-ls experiencing is that
"upspeeded societal behavior"  is an understatement!  The obvious is work
out side the home, but there is also just so much more that parents seem to
  do.  I don't think my old brain is getting too foggy yet,  but I remember
we ate dinner together as a family every night, in the dining room around a
table.  People seem to eat in shifts now, someone is always coming, going,
gone, sitting in front of the TV or computer.  I think this pattern has far
