An aside, on BF at night: I asked the maternity aides, about 50 of them, who
attended my theme day on early post partum BF support yesterday, to raise
their hands if they had had at least 8 hours uninterrupted sleep that night,
and I didn't count those who were on night duty. Not a single hand went up.
When I asked how many had one interruption, half raised their hands. The
rest had more than one interruption, or slept in one stretch for less than 8
hours.
I asked how many were awakened to BF (this is a 'mature' group)-- none, not
surprisingly. They laughed, and said they had to get up to pee. Another
non-surprise!

This is an idea I got from posts on Lactnet, and I can testify to its
effectiveness in getting health care workers to see our notions on sleep, in
a new light. The candy trick to challenge notions of scheduled feeds
continues to go over well. BTW, the chocolates I use are made by a
Norwegian company and they are bought in shops, at full price, for the
purpose ;-).
