I'm also tired of women AND men not taking responsibility for their own
health and lives and not only blaming others but suing others. Still, I'm going to
stop short of calling them wimpy. That connotes some judgment I'd rather not
make. Since I've not walked a mile in any of their shoes and don't know all the
internal and external voices influencing their decisions, I'll continue to
provide information, suggest intervention options, etc. and let them choose to
do with it what they will. And I NEVER feel guilty for "failures" nor do I feel
ownership for "successes" or for any of their decisions in any direction. The
"client" owns the problem and owns the solution. I learned long ago that
motivation is not something I can bestow on another. It comes from within the
other, and I can only support, instruct, etc. So I never find it difficult to let
go. When I'm with a mother and baby (babies), I'm totally with her and her
baby/babies. And when I leave, I leave her/the dyad's/triad's issue with her.

For what it's worth...

Karen
