Thank you for the replies.  We never found a study that documents the 
difference in milk before and after the one year mark, though there is 
controversy over whether it is a clear liquid or not.

  This mom was gutsy enough to find the most recent ASA guidelines and 
call the head anesthesiologist to let him know that his facility was 
*not* following them by requiring 6 hours fasting from breastmilk for 
toddlers.  And guess what?  They are going to fix that :)  So brava for 
this mom!
